If you are the last person in the building, you will need to prepare the building for lock-up and arm the alarm system.
To prepare the building to be locked up:
- Check the outside lobby doors. These doors tend to stick open, so please pull the exterior lobby doors closed.
- Check the Café doors to ensure the Café is locked.
- Check the South Stairwell Door to ensure the door is closed completely.
- Check the doors leading out of the kitchen to ensure they are fully closed.
- Check the lobby, computer lab, and conference rooms to ensure the light switches are off.
- Check the thermostats to confirm they are running on the schedule. If you see a thermostat that is showing, "Return to Schedule," press the button next to this message to return the thermostat to the authorized temperature schedule.
- Using a desk phone, use the Page button to announce the building is ready to be alarmed. ("The building's alarm system is ready to be armed. Please come to the Front Desk if you are still in the buidling.") Use Page Zone 0 for all areas in our building. (Click here for a quick demonstration on using the phone system's Paging function.)
- Leave through one of the three doors with a keypad reader:
- Front Entrance/CFSS Lobby
- North Entrance by the HR, Recruiting, and Training Departments
- West Employee Entrance by the Travelers' Desks
- Fully arm the alarm system. (Need a refresher...click here to go back to Arm the Alarm System.)
